Ft. Bliss and TX Area Sales Manager

About the Job

W.S Darley and Co. is currently seeking a Texas Area Sales Manager.  Ideally this person would be located in the Ft. Bliss area and would be able to work from home as his or her base of operations.  Travel outside of the Ft. Bliss area may be 50%.  Darley is a 108-year-old family company that supports the fire and rescue market as well as the Department of Defense.

 

Responsibilities

·         Interface with key customers in the region within the states of TX, OK, AZ, NM including, but not limited to Army National Guard, Army Reserves, and Active Army Units, as well as other forces.

·         Develop relationships with military and government customers at all levels in the military community including: end users, supply, officers, KOs, etc.

·         Creatively address customer problems, becoming a true resource and solution provider

·         Understand contract/funding methods and assist customers in their use

·         Partner with suppliers to provide best products & values to meet customer requirements

·         Determine innovative strategies to win business

·         Understand and represent Darley products and services and carry out direct sales activities in order to meet company defined quotas

·         Update sales plan on a monthly basis for management team

·         Generate quotes for customers and assist them in identifying optimal funding vehicles

·         Develop working knowledge of contracting vehicles at the post level

·         Work with support teams (purchasing, accounting, warehouse, etc.) to ensure that all information is up to date in the system and that orders are delivered in a timely fashion

·         Regularly following up on closed sales to ensure delivery and quality were as promised

·         Make cold calls, face to face and via telephone prospecting to develop new business

·         Monitor and report on market and competitor activities

·         Interface with Local Law Enforcement, Federal Law Enforcement, and Fire Fighting agencies as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

·         Committed to providing exceptional customer service

·         2-5 years of experience selling to military or government highly preferred

·         Working experience with MS Office suite of products

·         Must be able to meet with customers outside under all weather conditions and must be able to travel by car and plane for long distances

·         Bachelor’s degree highly preferred, but prior sales & military experience may be substituted

·         E-7 or higher in last attainted rank

 

Other Qualifications

·         MUST be highly organized and able to juggle duties of both inside and outside sales

·         Support inside salespersons in quoting and following up with customers.

·         Excellent written and oral communication

·         Understanding of basic business financial concepts

·         Be able to budget own expenses in a cost effective manner

·         Able to use customer and prospect contact activities tools (CRM systems) and update relevant information held in these systems as required

·         Self-starter a must

·         Understanding of government contracts and purchasing vehicles desired

·         Prior JD Edwards experience a plus

We’re Action Verb, and we’re looking to hire a part-time inside sales professional to join our team.  You’ll be the front line inside sales representative for BrickFTP (http://brickftp.com/) for the France territory.
This is a part-time, salary + commission, work-from-home position.  
BrickFTP is already actively selling in many foreign markets and we are looking to add France to our program.
We prefer folks physically located in France so you’ll be in sync with the hours.
Pay is on a contract basis, unless you are from the United States, in which case, you could instead be a W2 employee.
This could be a great add-on to anyone who is currently working from home and wants another opportunity to round out their portfolio of work.

Action Verb’s Story
Action Verb is a bootstrapped, profitable company founded in 2007.  Action Verb offers two main products:  BrickFTP,  a hosted file sharing service for business, and Vae Platform, a unique web hosting platform with an integrated SaaS CMS system.  Our SaaS services have over 1,800 paying customers and a total userbase of about 50,000 users.
We’re a small company (you’ll be the 11th person on the team when you join). We all work from home and communicate via Slack.

Here’s where you come in.
Although this is a sales position, it is not one of those hard-selling, cold-calling types of stressful sales jobs.
You’ll be calling and emailing warm leads who have responded to online advertising and would like to be walked through our software products before deciding to buy. Your job is simply to help them understand our software, how it can benefit them, and why they should use our software instead of our competitors.
Basically, you’ll be the “face” of our business to all our prospects.
You’ll patiently deal with users who don’t fully understand our products.  However, most of our customers are highly technical CTOs or IT director-types, so we hope that your time will be spent mostly with high-level customers who understand our products.
You’ll have the support of our 4 staff engineers and 4 other sales staff in case the sales calls get too technical.
BrickFTP is an easy product to sell.  Our customers are businesses and the price point is just $49 per month, so this is not a high-pressure sales situation.  Also remember that these are warm leads who opted-in asking for a phone call.
You will also be responsible for front-line customer support in your language/market.  Any issue you can resolve yourself, you’ll resolve, and anything else you’ll work with our English-speaking support engineers to resolve.  You may have to get on conference calls to translate for our customers if necessary.
 
Here are the details of the Pay.
Pay is $25 per hour for 10 hours per week plus 10% of the annual value of any package that you sell.  We expect the average commission to be about $100.
Each market receives an average of 200 quality leads per month, and we expect that a good sales person will be able to convert them at 10-20%.
 
What skills are we looking for?
We are looking for you to have:

Perfect phone demeanor and ability to communicate effectively via the phone.
Perfect grammar and professional tone via email.
Basic understanding of the technical aspects of hosting.
Fluency in English and French.
Previous experience doing telephone-based inside sales, ideally in a software or technology related business.

Work from home.  There’s nothing we hate more than commuting.  So, we don’t have an office and would definitely like to avoid having one for as long as possible.  If you have a family at home, move between locations, or even live abroad, this is a great opportunity to do all your work from home and stop wasting all that time on commuting.   It’s like getting 2 free hours added back to your day.
Choose your own hours. As long as you’re available to take calls and return calls during the business hours of your market, we’re flexible with exactly when you work during the day.  Work 2 hours, then run and take the kids to lunch, come back and work another 3 hours.  We work highly variable hours so we’ll be able to sync up no matter when you work.  We do have full team meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 3:30pm Eastern, so those are required as well.
Free travel.  Because we’re a distributed team that all work from home, we go out of our way bring the team together in person a couple times a year.  We speak at a number of industry conferences (think PubCon, AdTech, Affiliate Summit, etc.) and at various Internet Marketing meetups, summits, and training sessions.  When it makes sense, and when we can, we’d like to bring you along.
We use these as an opportunity to get the team together to relax, work, brainstorm, and party with our customers and each other.
Some of these trips will be in conjunction with the programming and marketing teams from our other companies, so you’ll get to meet the “extended family” as well.
